Hello All,

We just want you to please remove our site from your directory. WE have a site that is not intended for kids or teens. We pay a good deal of money for the professional services we have. this is for college level or higher.

We have not had one teen or kid at any of our high end filmmaking workshops or andy of our events for college level and professional level filmmaking people. We want our site removed from the KID and TEEN area of the open directory. how does one go about this in a civilaized way. The site is www.studentfilmmakers.com If it is listed we want it listed in the educational section and not in the Kid and Teen section. Also, I sent several e-mail asking that it be removed to no avail as of yet. I also called AOL and before we do anything else they suggested we try here. Is there a number we can call to get someone to assist us in this important issue. We want our site removed from the directory. Also, I suggest there be an easy way a site owner can request site removal.

Truly

There is no process for requesting the removal of a site from the Directory, sorry. Only making it completely unlistable could achieve that aim.

The Kids and Teens branch lists sites that meet its criteria and which it deems may be useful to kids and teens. Whether it is marketed at kids and teens is irrelevant. It does not stop you applying for a listing in a category within the main section of the Directory - sites can often be listed in both.

If you believe the content is unsuitable for kids and teens to browse judged by our Kids and Teens branch guidelines (make sure you read them first), then post in the Quality Control section of this forum.

There are apparently a couple of "Update URL" requests pending -- a K&T editor will review them and see what, if anything, needs to be done.

Remember, we won't assume you're representing the real webmaster, and we won't check your bona fides -- we really don't care whether you are or not. We'll just look at the site and the ODP listing to see if there's any problem with it.

The real site owner can always get a site removed by taking it down, or by restricting access. Since that is so, we need no other mechanism.

removed fron your directory

Our corporation owns the site. I have all access to all the e-mail accounts and the domain name. What do we need to do to prove that it is ours and get it removed from your site?

Tell me how to get it removed from your directory? This is what we want. We want it removed from yoru directory. Is that clear?

We don't remove listings from the directory on request. There is no mechanism to do it, because we don't do it. It is a fundamental principle of the Web that any site can link to another site, without seeking permission to do so.

However we have no wish to mislead users. If the editor deems the content of this site unsuitable for Kids and Teens, then no doubt it will be de-listed. If you have made an update request, then there is nothing further that you can usefully do.

Gosh, funny how you found all that so quickly. You know, you could have just pointed out examples of how the forum was unmoderated under your original ID instead of signing up for a new one and pretending to be a passing stranger.

I just read the post from this lady and started looking

I just read the post from this lady and started looking for myself to see if this is a kids site. I have never seen the site before. I found another porn link and another story about sex on it. I would take this ladies site off before parents start reporting it to the press. I am thinking about callling the news station now. Did you see the link I sent to feedback. It is like teen porn. it should be listed under teen porn sites not under a section for kids!!

I'm not talking about the stuff you found. I'm talking about your pretense -- you must think we're really stupid if you think we can't tell that you're not being entirely truthful.

But that's beside the point. You've made your report. I'm sure someone will look into it and deal with the site accordingly as soon as they can. You can stop the running commentary (and, for crying out loud, stop spamming me with emails and PMs  ).
