Please help - unable to submit url to specific category.

Good evening,

Hopefully somebody will be able to give me a little advice, so that I can continue with my URL submission.

I am trying to "suggest a url" to the following category: - Top: Recreation: Autos: Makes and Models: Citroën: Saxo

The website I am trying to submit is based around the Citroen Saxo vehicle and so I figured this would be the most appropriate category to submit to.

However, within the "saxo" sub-category no "suggest url" link exists. When I click "add url" I am taken to the advice page regarding "How to suggest a site to the Open Directory".

If I step back up a level to the "Citroen" category, I see a "sugegst url" link, however upon clicking this link, I am also taken to the "How to suggest a site to the Open Directory" advice page.

I do not wish to submit my url to a less befitting category and therefore I would welcome any advice you may be able to offer to resolve this situation.

Since you didn't post a clickable URL, I don't know where you tried to suggest it.

Thanks for the reply... The link you posted does indeed provide the "suggest url" link, and it works fine.

The page I was taken to by navigating through the directory was: -

This page however, does not contain the "suggest url" link???

Currently all the pages in ODP that contain foreign language categories are being rebuilt. I suggest you try my link as the point of submission, if you look at the bottom of the two pages, mine has a date of March 8, 2004, and the one you have is from last year.

I'm still not sure how you are getting to the the old format page, unless you were looking before March 8, and bookmarked that link then.

If you want you can go to http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Autos/Makes_and_Models/ , make sure you refresh your browser page, and go down from there, you should get to the same place I gave you.

This category may have been affected by the UTF-8 conversion. During the conversions the suggest feature was turned off. It is possible that the public page for this category hasn't been refreshed on all the servers yet.

Thanks, I did use the original link you supplied and have now submitted to that category. I too am not sure why the page I browsed too did not contain the suggest link?

I first browsed to that category on the 14th March, so caching locally should not be an issue. On my screen, the category "Citroen" did not display correctly... garbage characters were included?

I have just refreshed the Citroen category several times and all now appears to be fine...
