Please help ...

Please help me get listed on dmoz

Hello all,

I am the owner of the website <URL REMOVED>

I have tried many times over the last 2 years to get my site listed on dmoz but cannot seem to get listed, I have not recieved any information on the reasons why from the editors of the directory and the catagory I have tried does not have an editors name listed? Will I ever be listed?

I appreciate any help, from anybody?

You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

How long before resubmit??

I realise there is no time constraints for the editors, but how do I know if my site has been looked at, rejected, still waiting?

Do i just keep submitting my site every 3 months or so?

You don't know how many times it has been, or will be, looked at. (We don't either.)

Absolutely yes, if you want to be banned forever for spamming.

Otherwise, stop after one or two suggestions. No more are needed, no more are useful. More suggestions become ... COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.

Can you please tell me if it is possible to find out if there is even an editor available for my catagory? There are no names at the bottom?

This is the catogory I recently submmited to :

Top: Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Healthcare: Products and Services: Disability: Mobility and Transportation Aids

Which is the lowest catagory I can go and is still related to my site!

There are over 200 hundred editors who can edit in that category should they choose to do so.

My uncle runs [a company] <glowing testimonial deleted>.

I feel he deserves to be listed, and I tried to get him listed in this catagory:

I feel that this is the best catagory, I am not spamming, I am geniune..

Please do not use this forum as a way to promote any site.

You have been given all the information you need to understand how the ODP works, but it seems you have not read any of it.

I came close to deleting your last post, as it is nothing but repetition of your previous ones, which have already been answered in full.
