Hello,

I have submitted http://www.africadreamsafaris.com to several categories in the last year+. Ideally I think the most appropriate one I've submitted to was:
Top: Regional: Africa: Travel and Tourism: Travel Services: Tour Operators: Adventure Travel

Most recent category was:

I would list anywhere relevant to African safaris in Tanzania.

Tour operators are listed only in the location of their offices, not the location of the tours.

It was moved. It will still need to be moved to the Tour Operator subcategory, and then reviewed. You don't need to resubmit, unless you aren't actually located in Redondo Beach.

If you were to list all the categories you submitted to, it would probably be appreciated by our Africa editors. (Also, if any tour operators that you see in the Africa categories are actually based in the US, we'd appreciate knowing about that, also, so they can be shipped home.)

My apologies. Tour operators can be listed in both their office location and the location of their tours, at editor discretion. Travel agents can only be listed at the location of their offices, even if they specialize in a particular destination.

Perhaps you should reply again and ask about your Regional/Africa/Tanzania status. I can't see that section, and it's possible the suggestion I saw moved to Redondo Beach was a copy of your suggestion, and the original still resides in Africa.

Let me clarify my last post, rather than editing it. I made a mistake earlier when I stated that tour operators can ONLY be listed in the location of their offices. If you ask again, it's possible that a senior editor might put it back in the queue in Tanzania if he/she determines that the reviewing editor made the same mistake I did.

From what I can see on the site it is a Travel Agency, and not a tour operator. I can't walk in and say 'book me on your next tour' because you don't run tours. You custom build packages of accommodation and transport (and possibly include a paid guide at the Africa end). If I'm wrong, sorry, but I can only read the site as it stands.

If I am wrong, and you do actually run tours, then the Tanzania category appears to be the correct place as well as the Redondo Beach category, in which case resubmit there. Expect the same type of analysis of whether you are a tour operator based on the site content at that time.

You are welcome to check back on the Redondo Beach listing in 6 months time, if it has not been listed by then. I strongly advise you not to resubmit the site to the Tanzania category, given the current site contents.

Please help.

I submitted before, and was moved to our local town directory of Torrance, CA (where we've since moved from). Then I was informed that we should have been able to submit to the region that we offer safaris to:
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Africa/Tanzania/Travel_and_Tourism/Travel_Services/

So I was told to re-submit our site there, and I did. 'Please' help me to get this listed, it's been over a year that we've been without a DMOZ listing, and I believe we have a much more informative and useful site than others listed. We should be in a Region of Travel for Tanzania, Africa - African Safaris.

Category change

I haven't gotten a reply from my last couple messages, but I think I found a more suitable category for us anyway. We offer safaris to most of East Africa, primarily in Tanzania, but extensions to Kenya, Zanzibar, Uganda... so I'm thinking http://dmoz.org/Regional/Africa/Regions/East_Africa/Travel_and_Tourism/
would be the best category for us anyway.

Does anybody have any comments before I do the new category submit?
