It is waiting there for review. Either the description is very inaccurate, or the site's obviously not appropriate there.

I'd expect that if the first reviewer looks at it and thinks it's worth listing, it'll be moved to a different category (likely, an even more crowded one -- mortgage lead generators are some of our most persistant spammers) for the actual review for a listing.

Actually, the description was accurate and certainly not spam.

It's very simply a free ebook about refinancing options.

That should be appropriate for the categories I selected.

Do I need to contact the editor directly?

No, never.
First of all you wouldn't know which editor to contact, there are several 100 editors who could be the one reviewing your site.
We decided not to answer any personal mail. Questions can be asked here at R-Z.

You've made sure the site will be found. If the site is worth listing, that will be appreciated. You can't find the right category -- no matter, the editor can. We'll take it from here, there is no need for you to do any more, and there's not really anything more you can do.
