Hi,
A long time ago I submitted http://www.aplaceinoregon.com to the http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Oregon/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/ category. My domain then switched to http://www.RealtyInOregon.com which is a searchable database of real estate for sale and Realtors and private real estate sellers and property management companies in strictly the state of Oregon. From my limited understanding it was rejected because of the dead http://www.aplaceinoregon.com domain. Could someone please remove http://www.aplaceinoregon.com from the suggestions and re-edit http://www.RealtyInOregon.com in that category? I cannot remove aplaceinoregon.com domain nor set it as a forwarder because it is who my hosting is registered through, I just try to make sure no one links to it or goes it.

To clarify, http://www.RealtyInOregon.com is the only open to public searchable real estate database for Oregon. It is 100% independant from MLS and does not pull from any MLS databases or any other websites for that matter. The listings are added and maintained by the owners or representers of the listings. The database is free to add and you do not have to be a Realtor to add listings into the database. Anyone may add their listings as long as they are legitimate(each one is researched before being approved) and anyone may contact the listee in any way that the listee wishes to be contacted. Many Realtors in Oregon add their listings and also add links to their websites which also contain the listings added on RealtyInOregon.com. However many private sellers and renters that don't have their own websites and don't advertise their listings anywhere else put their listings in so others may find them. Upon further review of this site I'm confident you will find it contains very unique content, information, and features centralized to Oregon not found anywhere else on the Internet or any other sources outside on the Internet. I get dozens of e-mails a day from both sellers and buyers thanking me for creating the website and making it free. I also get many e-mails and calls from buyers out of state that have had a long hard time researching properties in Oregon and are very glad they found realty in oregon. I am not an expert on ODP but I think RealtyInOregon.com is very fitting of the Oregon real estate category and if anyone would like to do me a favor and further review the site I would be most thankful. Your welcome to email me if you have any questions.

Thanks for all your time,
Eli Aloisi

Thats why I was hoping you would remove the aplaceinoregon.com domain from the waiting review, so that realtyinoregon.com could be added, since that is the true domain. Thanks so much.

I think there is a little bit of confusion here in regards to what pvgool stated:

As far as I can see (but I can't see the waiting reviews for that cat)
http://www.aplaceinoregon.com was rejected sometime last year
http://www.RealtyInOregon.com has been rejected also as being a mirror of the first site, which we didn't want to list (and at this moment both sites are still exact mirrors)

Basically the original site http://www.aplaceinoregon.com was rejected and is not listable by ODP guidelines. The second site http://www.RealtyInOregon.com is an exact mirror of http://www.aplaceinoregon.com and is also would not be listable.

right, we got a nice loop going on. aplaceinoregon.com was rejected because that is not the actual domain of the site. Therefore by ODP guidelines it cannot be accepted. realtyinoregon.com was rejected because it's a mirror of aplaceinoregon.com. That is why I would like to remove aplaceinoregon.com and only have realtyinoregon.com submitted. RealtyInOregon.com is the domain of my website. aplaceinoregon.com is not an active domain. it's sitting there collecting dust, yes it points to realtyinoregon.com but it's still just a dead domain. I would really like to have it removed and forget about it. That way realtyinoregon.com can be listed because that is my site's address. By ODP guidelines realtyinoregon.com can be listed as long as aplaceinoregon.com isn't listed. Likewise by ODP guidelines, realtyinoregon.com could not be listed if it said on it something like "welcome to aplaceinoregon.com" or gave any indication that it was a mirror. To clarify realtyinoregon.com is not a mirror and it doesn't have any of it's mirrors listed. So it is listable under the guidelines.

Sorry about all the confusion I'm givin ya :)

Ok, lets try this another way, an incorrect (non-true) url is not a reason to reject any site. The reviewing editor will seek out and identify the true url (for any suggested site) and if the site meets the guidelines will then review the site for inclusion.

Sites are rejected for not meeting the guidelines and since the original site is/was unlistable (not because the url was incorrect-because it didn't meet the guidelines) the mirror would also not be listable for the same reasons (not just that it is a mirror).

Just to clarify, neither URL is listable within ODP. If one of them had never existed, it's twin would still not be listable.

That's not a loop, it's a bottom line.

okay i understand you now. Thanks, one more quick question if you don't mind...
Does the reason why the original site was rejected still apply to the site now? When the original site was submitted and rejected it was only about 3 weeks old. 8 months since the site has gone through some drastic changes.

Why are you bumping? On 10th March Jim said the site and its twin were unlistable following on from the status report that said rejected (again). In January in http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20548 you were told how many times, by how many editors it had been rejected. Including recently. You have submitted it over and over and it has been reviewed and rejected over and over. Forget it, don't waste any more energy on it, or time, yours or ours, focus on other promotional avenues. The site does not meet our criteria on so many levels, it will not be listed and I cannot see any way it can be made listable. I know that from previous posts you don't seem to be able to understand that. But that's OK, we don't mind that you don't understand. Just accept it and move on.
