I'm sorry, but we no longer offer that service. You know more about your site than we do. Further, the odds are slim that the editor here making the suggestion would be the editor actually placing the site, and that final editor is the one who makes the ultimate decision.

Take the time to browse the dirctory and find the single best category, and submit it there. If it is off by a subcat or two, that is not a problem, but we do need you to expend the effort necessary to get it close.

I would have said this a little differently, but the practical advice would be the same.

We do offer this service, in a way very efficient for overworked editors. And the way we offer it is: you submit a site, and if you didn't submit it to the best category, we move it to a better category.

So you have a choice: you can use our placement service (which may delay your site review) or you can do some extra work to make less work for us (which will speed up your site review.)

Your choice: either way, you're helping us by finding the site, and if the site is listable, we appreciate the help.

I agree with you guys 100% and my intensions were not to ask any one to do extra work.

Actually we offer a unique service and I have not seen anything related to that. I did a lot of search and I was unable to decide where to add the site. I did not want to add under wrong category and get rejected.

We don't reject suggested sites for being submitted to the wrong category.* All that will happen is that the suggestion will be moved to a more appropriate category for further review. Just find the best--if imperfect--fit.


* A single submission, of course. Multiple inappropriate submissions can get you labeled a spammer and get you and, in the most egregious cases, your site banned from ODP.
