Private/business-will I be able to put both?

Hi, guys

I now have a private website with drawings, sketches and stuff, it's been developed for long now and I think is worth enlisting in ODP: notmyhome.com/mack--it HAS NOT been listed/applied for yet.

There is no commercial background to it, except that it's a portfolio (I do not offer things for sale nor arrange jobs, though).

Yet, I would like to start my business, under freehandillustration.com and I would like to leave my current website alone and do business with the other. Of course, I will need/want to disclose that the things are bound together.

Q: Will I be able to enlist both sites in ODP in the future? What are your suggestions?

Thanks for help,
Maciek

Without seeing both sites (as one doesn't exists yet) can only give a very general answer.
If both sites are clearly related (same subject, same sort of content, same owner) very probably we will only list one of them.
But if your business is totaly unrelated to your hobby/private site I don't see a problem listing them both.

Rich content vs subject-specific

Thank you for the reply.

As an ODP editor, you'd probably consider the non-commercial site worth more than a website arranged purely as a web-business-card type with similar stuff.

So ok, considering that you guys don't overestimate ODP's influence on business boost, I'll probably stick to reporting the "hobby-like" website which is already there.

Thanks for support.

We do not care more for either commercial or for non-commercial sites.
We only care about content: enough and unique.
"a website arranged purely as a web-business-card" will probably not be listed as a business card doesn't have enough content

web-business-card = I mean website with no more than some 20-50 pages with examples of work :)

OK, that would probably be enough
What we see as "business cards" are one page sites with only a logo, name and address

It's that the guys at general support told me there was no way I could get it listed under my pseudo--if it has to be either company or full name, I'll rather build the company site and then enroll to ODP... I don't care to have the private site listed, i'd rather work on improvements in searches.

Thank you, pvgool, for your attention.

Err, I suggest you reread those posts because we said no such thing.

hello, jimnoble

it was really not my intention to misquote you, or anyone else, nor was it a complaint: I just got a strong impression that "you would be surprised"=="it's unlikely to happen"=/=I cannot, of course.

please, I don't want to catch people in their words nor I want to be caught. I surely do not need to get out of the line as other people yield to the rules. I realize how hard you try to exert this discipline.

I have not yet made up my mind--it's a matter of one or two words, but anyway...

Regards,
