Problem Getting Listed Site Check

Gidday,

I have an Australian football information site that I have been trying to get listed on DMOZ. I have other sites that have listed OK, but for some reason this one is not appearing. I understand that DMOZ is a volunteer organisation and appreciate that it can take time but I have had no serious delays in getting sites listed on DMOZ before.

As my information site related to football relates to clubs all over Australia I originally listed in a category related to football in Australia. However, when that didn't work I tried again by listing the site in my locality of Regents Park. My contact us page shows my office address in Regents Park so I didn't think it would be a problem as all other sites I have submitted I have simply submitted from a locality point of view. But when the submission to Regents Park didn't come through I have started to be worried.

As far as I am aware the site meets DMOZ criteria, but I was hoping that you kind folk here might be able to check my site at <url removed> to see if there was anything in particular that was preventing my site from being listed.

Thanking you in advance
Rob :)

I'm afraid there seems to be a misunderstanding here. The ODP is not a listing service, and so there is nothing at all you can do to "get a site listed". You have suggested a site, and at some stage a volunteer editor will review it, as a result of which it may or may not be listed.
Things may become a little clearer if you have a look at the FAQ, in particular the section about submitting a site to the directory. Thanks. :)

Not all editors participate here, and of those who do, some may not be at all interested in Australian Football. That's why it's much more efficient (for everyone) to suggest a site. The "social contract" says we will look at all suggestions. It is unnecessary to make a separate special request for that, since we do it for all of them.

What the social contract doesn't talk about is exactly who or when. Because nobody knows.
