Problem with application form

I applied to become an category editor, and carefully filled out the application. However, after I pressed "submit", the message came back saying that the username was already taken and I should press the back button. When I did, all of the information I carefully filled in was lost. Isn't there a way to go back and choose a new user name WITHOUT having to once again fill in the entire form??? Now I have to go back and recreate everything I typed in.... If I do it at all, I'm so disgusted.

Best to type all of your application data into a document and then copy and paste into the application form. If anything goes wrong with submitting the form you can easily re-apply.

P.S. Your information should "not" have been lost when choosing your browsers back button.

Depends on the browser, the operating system, the settings (if the browser is set to refresh the page every time then the back button is like back + refresh), plus a common windows problem is the cache get full, and it doesn't always make room automatically.

You can see all the existing editor names in http://dmoz.org/Bookmarks/ . Each editor gets a personal category for play/practice, and the categories remain even if the editor account is no longer active.

It's a browser thing. I also write everything down in a separate text file and save it before copying/pasting it into the form.

Think of it this way, second attempts are usually of better quality. /images/icons/smile.gif

I understand that pressing the "back" button doesn't always work... I used to use a text file to edit my responses in a form....back in 1998.... Nowadays most forms I fill out will repost the form, along with the input just posted, and even focus back to the item in question.... Anyway, I used a text file, and signed up for a category....
