Proper method for reporting quality issues?

I now understand that quality issues should be reported in the long thread above.

Is this the case whether a category has a listed editor or not? Or should quality issues first be reported to the editor when one exists?

I'm not talking about abuse, just quality issues within a category.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Whether a cat has a listed editor or not is irrelevant. Any quality issues can be reported in the Quality Control thread and someone will take a look at it.

[add]As is mentioned in the following thread-preferred method would be to use the *Update Listing* link on the Category page. Quality issues can be pointed out in these forums as well and will be looked into eventually. The update link often times is faster.[/add]

The preference would be to use the “Update listing” option in the affected category (whether there is a listed editor or not). This produces a flag that is visible to many more editors than would see it here. Of course with a large list of items to report within the same category, it may be easier to post the list here.

Either way, the quality control issue will be looked at just as soon as an editor has the available time.

Note that "update listing" posts generally get a "high priority" -- that is, days or weeks, not months or years as is common for site suggestions.
