Dear Maters,
We all know that DMOZ is stricly fair about companies not to get listed more than ones and if they are affiliated to make sure only one of the main website get listed. Now I want to tell about vegas.com and lasvegas.com and more websites they have, these URLs are belong to the same company. Now :

1 )they are originally listed here as Vegas.com
http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...ocalities/L/Las_Vegas/Guides_and_Directories/

2) Vegas.com listed here as music.vegas.com - Reviews of Ratt in Las Vegas, and plenty of pictures. BUT link REDIRECTS to http://www.vegas.com/shows/
http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Bands_and_Artists/R/Ratt/

3) vegas.com listed here as # Soul Beneficiary - Article with photographs from the Las Vegas Sun. BUT link REDIRECTS to Http://www.vegas.com/shows/
http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Bands_and_Artists/B/Brown,_Ruth/

4) vegas.com listed as Ilene's Bridal Gowns and Tuxedos - Hours, location and services offered
http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...Business_and_Economy/Event_Planning/Weddings/

5) and the same owner's website LasVegas.com listed here as well.
http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer..._and_Economy/Reservation_and_Ticket_Services/

6) another website of theirs vegasgolfer.com listed on :
http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...ities/L/Las_Vegas/Recreation_and_Sports/Golf/

6) ALONG with it, the same company owns newspaper lasvegassun.com listed in DMOZ for 19 categories

It's an article in a real newspaper. Who the newspaper is affiliated with is unimportant. It's a valid listing (same goes for the other article deeplinks to lasvegassun.com and the article deeplinks to lasvegasweekly.com).

The rules for information site deeplinks are, for obvious reasons, quite different from those that merely describe the services offered by a particular person. At one time, the ODP even systematically deeplinked all the major stories from several news sources. That, we decided, wasn't something we COULD do effectively -- and so we stopped trying. (Today, Google News does a better job of that, anyway.)

But deeplinks from reputable periodicals with online archives are frequently extremely valuable resources. They collect the work of many people, who are professional content creators, and whose reputation depends on the quality of the content they create. So the expectation is that such a website could well have content far exceeding in quantity, expertise, and breadth of content what almost any individual could create. (However, we would deeplink Athanasius Kircher's website!)
But deeplinks are also fragile resources, as large websites tend to be reorganized (and their deeplinks broken) more often than one would wish.)

So deeplinking articles is an editorial judgment: involving the importance of the topic, the amount of content in the article, the amount of other content on the same subject available, the authoritativeness of the source, the stability of its website. Obviously, editorial judgment on such issues must change over time.

It should be emphasized as much as necessary, that the number of deeplinks the site ALREADY has is absolutely not a consideration.

And it should be emphasized that different businesses have different rules. Some are listed two or three times in the normal course of events. Some (like Real estate agents) have extremely strict rules -- determined by editorial judgment based on editorial experience, which is that there are too many real estate agents who will do anything, up to and including putting false personal information on websites, to get more visibility.

the third link has switched by Vegas.com to
The redirect problem was in fact dealt with by an editor, who found the correct link to the article. Thank you for pointing out the problem.
