Question About a Specific Category

I am wondering about a specific category that does not have an editor. How does a person get a link added into that category when no one is there to review it to see if it is appropriate or not?

And while I know of "What you are seeing at the bottom of the category is that there is no editor named. This does not mean that a category gets no editor attention. Any editor "higher-up" the category tree can edit in a category lower down. In addition to this, there are two categories of editor, called Editalls and Metas who can edit any category in the directory. So yes, someone will eventually review every suggestion."

I have not seen any movement in the category whatsoever. Links are no longer valid some have changed to adult material, etc. So how does "eventually" work. I know when I applied for an editorship of that category I was told its too big of an undertaking and need something smaller. When I tried that (a section with 2 links. I was told the same thing. So if new editors aren't working on the specific category and old ones are as well when does "eventually" happen?

You might like to check out this forum's FAQ.

There's no editor for my category - will my suggestion ever get reviewed? should cover your question.

It happens when it happens.

If you are aware of QC issues, please report them - either by using the 'update listing' link in the category or in the Report Hijacks, Dead Links, Inappropriate ODP Content, and other issues here ONLY thread here.

Considering the category hasn't been updated in 3 years I'm thinking of buying one of the domain names and having it pointed to my site since their is no hope that the category will actually be worked.

I'm surprised that you think so little of your website that you'll be happy to have it listed with a misleading title and description. Perhaps you believed whoever told you that an ODP listing causes money to fall from the sky.

Anyway, thanks for demonstrating your integrity.
