Question about my submitted site

Hey there, not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but it sounds the rightest I submitted my website, URL Removed about a month ago, and haven't seen it up yet. Editors, have you been backlogged, or do I need to do something different in my submission? Your feedback so that I can meet you needs/criteria would be much appreciated.

No, by suggesting your site to us you have done anything you can do.
I advise you to read our FAQ, this will probably answer your questions.

So from what you say there's nothing more I can do? Or can/should I resubmit? I read the guidelines when I posted, so it should be in line with what you want, yet it's been much longer then it says it usually is. So I wonder...any way to check what happened/will happen to it?

Unfortunately the official public guidelines are very out of date. But a vast number of threads here will show you that the time between suggesting a site and an editor looking at it can be anywhere from a few minutes to several years, because the pool of suggestions is not necessarily the first place a volunteer looks for suitable sites to add.

So provided you have done as much as you can to make your site full of unique content, no, there is nothing more you need to do.

Just sit down and relax for 2-3 years, then, get real and realize DMOZ is not worth it and move on.

I ran a website a about 5 years ago and DMoz was a great tool for webmasters and the general public. It appears that somehow while I was away from web design and came back that dmoz has been crippled by an aristocracy some how. I notice that the board answers are not very helpful and that it can take years to be listed. What happend to the great idea that created this index that was originally built to map the internet. I have submitted ny website as well and it has incredible content and a very nice layout. It probably will never get listed. The shame is that the internet public suffers from this unwarranted aristocracy of editors that really are not interested in accomplishing what this engine was created to do.

I'm not sure what purpose you think is served by badmouthing the volunteers here but it's against our TOC.

I have a bail bonds web site which i listed over two months ago and still it's not listed ...when do you think it will be listed. What's the normal status on a tipical site.

I fairly sure your link will soon be removed and you need to read the forums. DMOZ editors do not have to use the suggested sites (I would guess they receive a generous amount of spam) and tend you go out and find websites using their own methods. If your site is good and an editor finds it then I'm sure it will be added. There can be no timescales because editors do this in their own time.
