Question about website approval

I was contacted by the editor for the category I suggested my website to. The email asked me to provide an informative description of my website, which would appear online, and to also contact them if I had any questions.

So I sent them an informative description of my website, and they told me that is was fine. They also told me that it would be listed when it was approved by some other editors, and that may take up to a month.

So basically, my question is, in order for a site to be listed under a category, is it normal for said website to be reviewed and approved by more than one editor?

Thanks.

That's very unusual. It's the norm (because it's quicker, less hassle and more secure) for the editor to simply rewrite it him/herself. I doubt if I've accepted more than 100 submitted descriptions in all the time I've been here.

I have, on only one occasion, contacted a webmaster/owner regarding their site. I did it simply because I felt the site adequately fit more than one category and wanted the owner's input before deciding which. It seemed the "fair" thing at the time.

It was a pleasant exchange, but I have no intention of making it a habit.

Would a Greenbuster be given their own category to edit, though? Because the person who contacted me is the only editor for that category, and appears to have full control over that category.

Editors with greenbust permissions show up on the category page as well as the category editors (if there even are any for the specific category). All edits done by a greenbuster must be 1st reviewed and accepted by the category editor before it is listed in the directory.

Editors with Greenbuster permissions do not show on the public side of dmoz.org, only on the editor site of the directory.
