How: It's just a question of finding a category that matches the content of the site - each category has a link to the suggestion form for that category. If no link is present, it means the category isn't taking suggestions - this is mostly for categories in which no sites are listed.
Criteria: We are not very restrictive about which sites are acceptable and which are not... We look at the actual content of the site over the style or aspirations it has... The
selection guidelines are public.
The procedure is to find the right category for the site, click the "suggest a site" link, follow any specific instructions, fill in the URL, Title, and Description... if you read through the
style guidelines you'll be able to describe the site in a way which makes it easier for the reviewers - but this isn't essential as we often have to rewrite the suggested descriptions.
That's it.
The suggestion then waits for a volunteer editor to review it - However, the time scales are wildly variable, between several weeks and years.
