I recently applied to become and editor of a category in DMOZ. Having been rejected a couple of times I then got got my act together and entered a completely faultless application. Sites which were very specific, wrote very accurate descriptions following the guidelines. Following the application I got an email saying thanks for the application but we do not give new editors category's with large numbers. I am not questioning why I was not accepted because I undertnad it was my fault, i am just asking if It had have been a lower category would I have been accepted. The email suggested that they were happy with my application, just not the category. Any ideas?

  • Be open and honest.
  • Provide good candidate URLs appropriate to the category.
  • Be careful to double check every detail.
and we should welcome you with open arms.
