(Re)submitting to a category that has an editor

For six months I had May 31st marked on my calendar as the date on which I could submit a second inquiry regarding my site submission status. I was so disappointed to see that site submission status checks were discontinued only days earlier. :(

But I totally understand.

Last I checked, there doesn't seem to be an editor for the category in which I'm hoping to get listed (http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Public_Relations/Copywriters/). At this point, would it be possible/prudent to submit into a category that actually has an editor?

Any and all feedback is much appreciated.

Thank you,
Amanda

No, please don't.
A site must suggested based on the subject of the site. If you suggest the site to the wrong category it certainly will make the time needed for review much longer. If you do this many times it even could get your site banned.
You have been told the suggestion has been received. There is no only one thing you can do in relation to this suggestion: wait. Ofcourse you can do a lot of other things to promote and improve your site.

Thanks to both of you for the quick feedback and for confirming what I suspected. Sitting tight over here. :)

When people incorrectly submit to a category where I am named editor, presumably in the hope they will be dealt with quicker, I move the site to where it should have gone and deliberately don't review it - I don't want to encourage mis-submissions. You can do serious harm in terms of time taken to review a site by submitting to the wrong category for any reason.

I just want to clarify that I didn't mean that I was considering switching to a random category. I was presuming that I could find another suitable category. In any case, I'm sitting tight. Just felt the need to clarify my initial posting and intent since I certainly wasn't suggesting something as nefarious as has been interpreted.

ALL categories have editors. Please read the FAQ which jimnoble provided a link to in message number 6 above.

thanks
