Re-submitting to a more approp. category?

I may have submitted my site to be considered for a category that I now realize, I may not get accepted into.

Question: is there any point /advantage / penality in re-submitting the site again to another category where it might be more of an appropriate fit?

Of course I realize this makes work for the editors more difficult.
Is there a way of doing this that could make your jobs easier? ... by, offering an explanation and the link to the formerly submitted category?

Actually, the damage has already been caused, and one more submittal to the right category is probably the best thing you can do.

This logic isn't infinitely extendable, though -- I'd strongly suggest that you don't do it more than once.
