Is there definitely an editor for my dmoz listing category or am I waiting for an editor to be appointed before my submission will be reviewed ?...can I offer to be an editor to speed up my listing?

Just because there is no editor listed at the bottom of the page, that does not mean that the category is not being taken care of. Many other editors can edit in that category, including editors in parent categories and all meta editors and editalls. For more information please consult the FAQ.
