I have just started a new project. http://www.offersportal.net which showcases offers and discounts from smaller businesses and services.

There are no affiliate links and all of the content is exclusive to my site.

Although most content on the site is UK oriented right now, in the next few days I will be adding content relating to many other countries.

A have had a good look at the category structure on DMOZ and I really can't seem to fit my site to any specific category.

Can you help me make my mind up where to submit it please.

Is it even a site that DMOZ would be interested in adding?

Thank you very much in advance.

We don't offer this kind of service. Suggest your site to the category you think best fitst your site. If we think this isn't teh best category we will move it to what we think is the best place.

In this case: don't suggest the site at this moment. We can not see what will happen in the future. We will list a site purley based on the current content.

Thanks Pygool, i wasn't really asking for a service, just a little help making my mind up because I cant find a category that comes even close.

Hope the above doesn't sound pompous, it's not meant to.

I'll have another look around and see if I can find a category suitable for my site.

We don't ask, or even expect, perfect submissions. Just get it close or in teh general neighborhood. We constantly move suggestions around. But, for example, don't submit a site about airplanes in art because your airplane is as pretty as a picture. :D

It's good to know that you guys actually take the time to do this. Gives me hope that some day I'll be able to successfully add one of my sites to DMOZ. I haven't submitted yet, but I somehow thought you'd just dump anything that wasn't "exactly" categorized by the submitter.
Thanks for all your work!

At one point, Yahoo! was doing this, but we never (what never? no, never! what, never? ...) did. That is, it's considered a mistake when it happens. Which it rarely does.

The exception might be if we believe the submission was malicious, or if there were multiple, multiple submissions and we got overzealous in taking out the garbage.
