Is there a way to get a record of the website I suggested? I'd like to know what category I submitted to and the description, etc... I didn't realize what I was doing exactly. I know I put it under consumer goods and services but I think I might have just suggested from there. Now I realize I should have been more specific. I don't want to re-suggest for fear of getting booted out.

However, the website now comes up on altavista, hot bot, a9, msn, yahoo, google, and dusty BUT I have to enter my sew chic or mysewchic, which is the actual web address - mysewchic.com. The company name is sew chic but she doesn't come up when that is entered.

The website does not come up when I search DMOZ.

Another thing is who decides what is going to be said in the short description under the website title? I really want something about the fact that we are in San Antonio and offer alterations and custom made apparel but that is not what is being put out there.

Also the first thing you see when you see a listing in a search engine for example Nike.com, etc... For ourlisting it says "HOME." Why is that and how can I change it? I would think this has something to do with how I submitted it.

I also would like to become an editor for a new category but I'll discuss that in the appropriate place. Thanks to anyone who can provide feedback.

I'd really like to resubmit if possible.:)

No, sorry. We did give status reports some time ago, but decided against it. Please see the FAQ for more details on our reasons.

If it does not fit the category you suggested it in, an editor will move it to the apropriate place. But apart from that, a single resubmission to the most apropriate category doesn't hurt either.

In the ODP? The editor writes the description according to the sites contents, using the suggested descriptiopn only as a rough idea about the site. Since the ODP is a human edited directory and not a marketing instrument, that point isn't really open for discussion. :)

Why is that and how can I change it
This forum is for the discussion of ODP topics only. Since "Home" is not an ODP description, you are most likely talking about some search engine. You might want to do some reading in the web about "title tag", but I am sorry to say that those topics are offtopic in this place.

Not really. We have no way of searching through the pools of unreviewed sites.

The editor who reviews the site is responsible for publishng a guidelines-compliante title and description. The editor may or may not base it upon the input provided by the person who suggested the site, but ultimately, the editor is responsible for what gets published. It is absolutely not a collaborative effort.

Also the first thing you see when you see a listing in a search engine ...

Questions on search engines should be directed to fourms that specialize in search engines. We are a directory.
