Redirect Within A Site - within guidelines?

I would like to submit a site to the ODP but want some clarification first on redirects. The submission guidelines state that you should not submit a url that redirects to another one. Is this guideline for redirects to another site only?

The site I would like to submit lists events chronologically.. users go to the index.html in root and get redirected to the current months page within the same directory/folder.. eg this month is august so users going to index.html are redirected to august.html. The redirect is there purely for convenience to the visitor.

Would a redirect to another page within the same site and directory based on the current month be within the submission guidelines?

The redirect rule is specifically for redirects to other sites. What you describe wouldn't be an issue for us. We'd list the shortest URL that will work and stays on the same site.
