Reinstatement problem

I'm seeking help from a DMOZ Editor or Meta as my Editor account has been disabled and I cannot get any of the forms for reinstatement or communications with DMOZ to work. I'm hoping that someone will pick up this forum message and get my account back working.

I am (was) editor for - http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Lyrics/Search_Engines/ and a while ago was unable to log in, then later I was "dropped" as I had not logged in for 3 months (although I tried).

I really want to remain an editor, and even increase my involvement, but for some reason? all the dmoz forms refuse to work for me.

If anyone wants to help or discuss this outside the forum please email me - garbo@codehot.co.uk

Cheers

The form does not work for me.

Thanks oneeye, but this is the problem. The form does not work for me.
The error given is :-

E-mail address is different

There was a problem with your form:

If you've changed e-mail addresses, please specify the original in the reason you wish to be reinstated

... I am entering the email address I signed up with and it's still active.
How can I get round the request to "please specify the original in the reason you wish to be reinstated" when I cannot submit the form?

Use the e-mail that was the last one that was used in your profile. Are you sure that you didn't change the e-mail address in your profile at some point before you timed out?

Reinstatement

Thanks for your advice but I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of. The reinstatement form does not work, the contact form does not work, even contacting meta's directly does not work. Is it not possible for an administrator to unblock my login. I will apply (in lieu of the reinstatement form) via direct email if someone can email me directly - use my email address as used in my DMOZ Profile - [email address removed] then I will reply to that. Surely I can't be the only one affected by this problem?

Please contact me via http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/send.cgi?toeditor=jimnoble with as much corroborative information as you can such as:-

Approximate date joined
Editor name (but not password)
Original email address
Joining category
Additional categoories requested
Additional categories gained
Roughly how many edits done
Approximate date of leaving and the circumstances
Websites owned

Convince me that you are who you say you are and I can reset your email address of record to one that works today. This will make it possible for you to request a password reminder (if needed) and complete a reinstatement request form.

Yes!

Good - the form worked. :)
How long does re-instatement normally take?

How long

How long will I have to wait, and will I get notification if my re-instatement is not granted? - or do I need to try to log into my account daily to check if my editor account works?

Help please

How can I get this escalated? I know volunteer editors work hard and have to deal with volumes of enquiries, but now I've managed to submit my form I'd like to be able to get in and edit my category. I have been unable to do this for around 8 months now. If this is a general, typical problem it's a wonder that anything on DMOZ is as up to date as it should be.

Please, who-ever needs to respond to my reinstatement request - I'm waiting, patiently.

Hey, keeping the login active would have avoided this problem. Reinstatements have to be _investigated_ a bit, and there are very few investigators to go around at ODP right now.

Thanks for that KC

Thanks for that KC. How does one keep the login active when one cannot log in?

I believe that kctipton is referring to not having let it go inactive by letting someone know that you could not login before it went inactive. By not letting anyone know that you were having a login problem, you now have a bigger problem and it will take longer to fix it.
