Reinstatement problems - error message

I was a editor at dmoz for a while under the username "fopy." My editing status was deactivated when I could not edit because I left Israel and was traveling. Because I no longer live in Israel, I do not receive email at my old email address. I am now settled down and would like to edit again. When I try to fill out the reinstatement form, I get an error message about my email.

I have not heard anything from dmoz.

I would like to edit for dmoz again but do not want to apply for a new username as dmoz says that is considered abuse. My username is fopy and my new email address is hadishon@waytruthlife.com. I have all my old passwords and email address if needed.

Was my application go through and I just have to wait for a response?

Can anyone help?

I do not have (and haven't had) any spam filters on for my new email address.

I've re-instated your editing account. You can login now using your old editor name and password. You can change your e-mail address by editing your profile.

Happy Editing. :)

Thank you enarra! It will be great being back. I can't log in right now using my old username and password. Does it take a while for it to be updated so I can log in? Thanks Again!

It can take up to 24 hours for the password file to be updated. Metas can do it manually, but right now we're experiencing some technical problems.

So worst case you should be able to login tomorrow around the time that I reinstated you. Probably sooner though.

Ok, Thanks! I was worried that I changed my password at some point and didn't keep track of the change! I'm pretty sure I didn't do that though.

I still can't log into dmoz. Are there still technical problems that are preventing the database to be updated? Thanks

How frustrating. I've taken the mater to our engineer (you're not the only person with this issue by the way). :)

Ok. Keep me updated if you can. I'll try to log in from time to time.

Well I edited a few sites when I first posted that I can log in but, now I can't log in again. I didn't do anything wrong did I? Are there still technical problems? I also noticed my name wasn't listed as editor on the categories that I was listed at earlier today. I was able (at least I think I did) to update my email address. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I can tell, your account should be working fine. You're not listed in the categories because the public pages haven't updated yet. The next time they do, you will be. Have you tried sending yourself a password reminder?

I just received my password reminder and it is the same password I am entering. I even tried copy and past. I know I am using the right password and username. Hmm... Any ideas?

Yes, it works now. Thanks for the virtual kick! The funny thing is, it didn't even ask me to enter my password. It just took me right to the Editing Main page. It must have recognized a cookie or something.

mwalko

Hi, I was also an editor "mwalko" who tooked some vacations ;) . As it is a normal rule, when we are out from editing for longer times it is better to sign out.

The thing is, I wish to be reinstated a bit faster. I guess waiting weeks for a reinstatment is a bit too much :(

bump:

Can anyone help me with my login problems with the Editor Forum at dmoz: http://forums.dmoz.org/forum? When I first click on that link, I get a login request pop up in IE. I enter my information and then I can see the forums (no topics or categories) but it takes me to another log in screen where my username doesn't work. How do I log into the forums?

Reinstatement status

ps: I tought I did the right thing to temporarily resign as editor because of my "vacations", but I never tought it would take that long to get a reinstatemnet :(
