Reinstating editor account problems

Hi,

I am trying to reinstate my editor account. It recently expired, as I got very busy and I have been unable to edit since January. I have tried completing the Reinstatement Form, however, it gives me an error message stating I was never an editor. I know I am using the correct editor name, because I have my old editor profile saved.

Anyone have any thoughts on what I should do?

If this has just been happening within the last 24 hours, I suspect that it would have something to do with the server changes that are happening. If this is something that has been happening prior to the last 24 hours, then it's a mystery <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hmmm. Still not working. I have only tried today, but with several failures. I get the following message.

"It appears that that username has never been an editor"

Is there any way someone can look this up? Unless I am totally losing it, I'm fairly confident that my editor name was tsk928. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> Maybe I should try again tomorrow?

I'm starting to think there may be a glitch in the system right now. Perhaps you should hold of for about 2 weeks as we go through a server upgrade. And then you can try again. <img src="/images/icons/crazy.gif" alt="" /> Thanks for your patience!

Yes, that's my old profile. There may be a glitch then. I guess I'll just wait it out, keep trying, and hope that the server gets back on track. Are there no other alternatives? I'm not sure if a meta, or senior editor can reinstate me or not. Either way, thanks for the help!

You have to apply for reinstatement before someone can reinstate you.

Ok, I have tried this several times and it is not working. For the last couple of days, all of the forms on dmoz were down due to server maintenence, which is what I was told would happen. I decided to try again today, and now the system is recognizing that I was an editor, but I get a NEW error message stating that my email address is different. I know, for a fact, that it is not, because I have ALL of my original emails from when I got approved. I can copy/paste these, via PM, to anyone who would like the proof.
This is becoming very aggrivating. Aren't there *any* Metas out there that can help me with this? <img src="/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />

This is going to take some patience (he says, feverishly biting his fingernails somewhere above the first knuckle). The upgrades mean that many things are temporarily not working, and the set of things that are working at the moment is wildly variable. So there is hardly any way of predicting why _you_ can't get to _this_ particular bit of functionality. Think of it as a roving blackout ... the help desk isn't answering because their power is out at the moment also.

In two weeks (crossing the remnants of fingers) it will all be back better than normal, and the newly-up-popping bugs will be few enough that each one can be properly tracked and whacked. But right now -- trust me, you're better off thinking of yourself as temporarily a non-editor with future prospects.

Sigh. Wow you still have remnants of your fingers? Mine are gnawed down to my wrists. Wow, two weeks from now? By then I could very possibly be all the way down to my elbows.

Well, do you think some of us are less helpful or more clueless than others? Do you think that every meta who had attempted to help you so far was a hapless idiot? Do you have a clue what a meta does? We aren't engineers working for Netscape, but if you think we are then that would explain your "aggrivation."

I apologize to all metas if I offended you by my question, I certainly didn't mean to. I wasn't getting aggrivated at the metas, I was aggrivated because that dog-gone form wouldn't work. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
