Why Riga?

Thank You for Your work, but we have one question - why our home page jauda.com is put under category Riga, if our enterprise is subdivided and work in all Latvia http://www.jauda.com/html/en/25716.html and exports production to another European countries - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan etc.? We have dealers in Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus and Russia, which aren't shown in this map. Is it possible to change this category?

No, it's not possible to change that category. It is the right Regional category -- that's where the factory is, right?

The other site suggestion is still waiting review.

Based on your description of the company, I would expect its main website to be potentially eligible for two listings, one in Business and one in Regional. Since different editors work in the two areas, and our software is set up assuming editors generally work in one category at a time, the two listings will usually not be considered at the same time (which is what happened here.)

Though we can' t agree to Your opinion, because companies from category http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/Business_and_Economy only Jana Seta, Parex Bank and Viada aren' t only in Riga. Our company produce and sale electro materials. Our main production unit and office of course are in Riga, but we have wholesale net over all Latvia (and there I don' t speak about other countries). Then if somebody will wish to know something about our work in another cities, for example, http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/Localities/Daugavpils,
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/Localities/Liepaja, Kuldiiga, Aiviekste, he will have to look in all categories. In Latvia we are 11th bigest manufacturing enterprise and we still enlarge with our branch net http://www.jauda.com/upload_pic/Uznemums/sale.jpg. Isn' t really impossible to move our Web page adres to category http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/Business_and_Economy or leastwise to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/Business_and_Economy/Industries and http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/Business_and_Economy/Trade? We think that it would be most correctly, isnt't?

Make an "Update URL" request. It doesn't sound totally unreasonable on the face of it; just make sure the facts you mention can be seen on the website.

I do not understand - why all directorys about Latvia are under subdirectory http://dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Valstis_un_re%c4%a3ioni/Latvija/ ? When i go to directory Latvian, then i never guess, that all directorys are under regions and states, and then i have to chose - Latvia, Europe and Asia. Why these states are under directory Latvia?

Es nesaprotu, kādēļ visas direktorijas par Latviju ir saliktas zem apakškategorijas http://dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Valstis_un_re%c4%a3ioni/Latvija/? Ja es aizeju uz direkotriju Latvian, tad ne es ne viens cits nekad neuzminēs, ka viss, kas ir par Latviju, ir atrodams zem apakškategorijas regions and states, kur nez kādēļ vēl ir iekļuvušas Latvijā neietilsptošas valstis - Eiropa un Āzija, bet tad jāizvēlās vēlreiz Latvija un mēs visu smuki varam atrast. Kādēļ tik haotiska direktoriju uzbūve? Pašlaik sanāk, ka mūsu uzņēmums ir nevis uzreiz direktorijā Bizness, bet gan kaut kur dziļi paslēpts tādā pašā direktorijā Bizness un ekonomika.

http://dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Valstis_un_reģioni/Āzija/ should be for sites in Latvian [language] that are based in Asia - I'm not sure why it's ther as there are not sites listed/

In the same way http://dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Valstis_un_reģioni/Eiropa/Igaunija/ is for sites in Latvian [language] for companies in Estonia


Sites in Latvian that are about or based in Latvia are in http://dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Valstis_un_reģioni/Latvija/

Sites in English about Latvia are in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/

Sites in Regional are always placed at the most specifc location where a company is located, not the market it serves.

Ok, I catch the meaning, that our site can be submited only in one categorie. But why is 2 diferent categories http://dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Bizness and dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Valstis_un_re%c4%a3ioni/Latvija/Bizness_un_ekonomika/ ? All Web pages are from Latvian companies. And our web page www.jauda.com is not only in latvian language (Latvian, in English, Russian and Germany). Our company is not located only in Riga (map). For example one litle company Birotech are located only in Riga, but described in two diferent categories dmoz.org/World/Latvian/Bizness and dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Latvia/Business_and_Economy. I can't understand the difference :).
