Dear Team,

I requested a title update for my site in the category "online shops/bekleidung/trachten" (the German version) a while ago, and have made several attempts since then. It seems that the change request was not made on purpose.

Is there a reason why you would not want to update the title? I would like you to remove the name (the last 2 words) from the title.
Please help me update the title. The email address used in the update form is the same as that of this forum.

Thank you.

That is of no use.
If the request is still waiting newer update request will have no effect.
If the request is denied than making it another time will not change our opinion.

Anything editors do is on purpose :)
But that is probably not what you mean :)
The request is either still waiting. Although we try to handle update request fast it can sometimes happen that such requests have to wait several weeks.
Or the request has been denied. As Title we use the name of the company/website. If we can not find evidence on the website for the proposed title we will reject the request.
Which option (waiting or rejected) is something you can easely determine yourself as you know if you suggested a rejectable request.

Hello,
The first time I requested an update, you changed the description but left the title unchanged. I could see that you had made a change. Then I requested a change again, this time for the title only, but you did not react to that. So, that is why I came to the conclusion that you did not update the title on purpose and am asking why. The new title I suggested is not rejectable; I just want the last 2 words in the title following the comma to be removed. Is that possible?

Thank you.

" you changed"
let me first explain that the "you" was not me as I do not edit in those categories
it must have been any of the other editors
maybe that editor did not notice the title update request the first time, maybe (s)he decided the change is not valid
but, we do not discuss individual cases. I gave you an answer that is global and relates to update requests as a whole.

To complement the above...
As a general rule, if the change requested isn't an obvious one and visible on the site, explain the reasons behind it as clearly as possible in the update request.
Requested changes which appear to be for SEO and similar purposes are usually rejected.
Without getting site specific, you may want to read the category guidelines which editors follow when working with Shopping sites in German; if your request complies with these it's likely to be accepted, otherwise not.
