Hi there! I'm new here and I would like to request a new category for the 80s' cartoons section which goes like this:

Top: Arts: Animation: Cartoons: Eras: 1980s: C.O.P.S.

That's because I have a blog that pays homage to the late 80s' animated series C.O.P.S. and I want to get it into that rightful category I requested.

Here's my site I want to submit to the new C.O.P.S. category.

<URL DELETED -- SEE TOS>

If you can do that I really appreciate it.

Thanks!

New categories are created in a couple of ways:

1. If the proposed category is part of an editing template -- for example, adding a Residential subcategory to a regional real estate category -- then an individual editor can do so on his or her own, providing certain criteria are met.

2. If the proposed category is not part of a template, it might be one of some generic categories that any editor can add, providing certain criteria are met.

3. A proposed subcategory that does not fall under 1 or 2, can be created, however the editor should seek broad concensus for doing so, after ensuring certain criteria are met.

OK, gunner, what are the certain criteria? Most importantly, there must be a sufficient number of listable sites to populate the proposed subcategory. We don't create subcategories for single sites, although you can easily find many one-site categories that are that way due to link rot and attrition.

OK, gunner, I understand, but what does the webmaster or owner of a really cool site do if there is no subcategory? The best thing to do is to try and find four or five similar, listable sites that would go in the proposed subcategory and then suggest them all, with a note in the description saying {would go well in proposed category XXX}. The note and the related, quality submissins will catch the eye of an editor who will likely make the effort to get the subcat, or a similar one, created.
