Resubmitting a Repurposed URL

I have a URL that I was using to detail my company, I submitted this URL to dmoz under a small business category, but it has not been listed to date; I am planning on renaming my company and reusing said URL, because it would not be appropriate as a company site under our new name.

The problem is that the new use of the URL would be relevant to a totally different category, and, if I submit this URL under a new category, it will look like I'm committing the much frowned upon sin of submitting the same URL to different categories.

It seems that the easiest thing to do would be to erase my original submission so there is no confusion, however, I am unaware of any way to do that. Can that be done and, if not, is there some protocol for such a situation?

Thank you

Well without knowing the URL and the category to which you suggested it, there's not a lot we can do to help. Perhaps you could tell us.

The URL is www.heltershelter.com and the category was http://www.dmoz.org/Business/E-Commerce/Developers/Small_Business/

I didn't mention the specifics only because the actual change in the use of that (heltershelter.com) URL is still a quarter or two off, so there's no rush. I just want to know well ahead of time whether I will be able to repurpose this URL without forgoing a submission to dmoz.

If you can just erase the previous submission, please do so. One way or another, it will no longer be relevant within a year so, so there's no point in it being reviewed. If there's anything else I need to do to avoid any confusion when I do repurpose heltershelter.com and before I submit it to dmoz, please advise.

Thanks

If, in fact, it is a sigificant refocusing of your business (and not just changing from vanilla to chocolate, but still selling ice cream) then go ahead an resubmit once to the single best category and put a note in the description area along the lines of {replaces earlier submission to cat/subcat/subcat}

Before you do resubmit, though, check the categoyr to make sure that it is not listed. If it is listed, then go to that categoyr and submit an Update request with the same information.
