search engine links feature

I'm new to the open directory project. I quickly navigated through the directory to this page:

http://dmoz.org/Science/Anomalies_and_Alternative_Science/Research/

At the bottom of that page is this line:

* "Research" search on: All the Web - AltaVista - Gigablast - Google USENET - Google - HotBot - Lycos - Teoma - WiseNut - Yahoo

Now, if I use those links to search engines and search for "research", I do not get what I really want, which would be as search for something like what is at the top of that directory page:

Science: Anomalies and Alternative Science: Research

I think it would be useful to modify this search feature so that there was the two click option to search for [Science + Anomalies + "Alternative Science" + Research] rather than simply [research].

It would be nice if at the bottom of the page it also said :

search for [Science + Anomalies + "Alternative Science" + Research]

and there was a check box next to that search option.

I changed it to something where you get a few good hits on some of the search engines. I tried what you suggested but didn't get anything but ODP clones. If you can come up with something better, feel free to suggest it here. :)

Unfortunately, those "few good hits" are pretty much just ODP clones and nothing that might actually be relevant.

Wow. Much better! The way it is now ("Anomalies OR Alternative Science" AND Research), Google gives a few useless sites then there is:

http://www.clickandsearch.com/links/science/ano.shtml

which actually has many useful links.

There must be many parts of the directory that could benefit from this kind of modification to the internet search feature.

There are a few good links in there if you look hard enough. But most are just clones. :(
