Search results out of sync with category data

Hello All,

I just searched for one of my sites in DMOZ ( devbistro.com) and it came up in the search results as shown below:

Open Directory Categories (1-1 of 1)
http://www.devbistro.com Computers: Open Source: Employment (1)

This is the category the site has always been in (for about a year now). However, having clicked on the category link, I no longer see the site listed among other sites.

Is this a temporary glitch or does it mean that the site was de-listed from the directory? Could it mean that it's in the process of being moved to some other category?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
James

Please read http://resource-zone.com/forum/faq.php?faq=faq_site_questions#faq_search for answers relating to questions about differences between directory and search.

Anwer to both questions: Could be.
As we don't answer status request (and this is a status request) we won't be able to give you a more detailed answer.

Thanks. This was not a status request but rather a request to get an explanation of the inconsistency in data (search results vs category data the search points to). "Why can't I find my site when I use ODP search?" is the closest question to my problem except my problem is the reverse of that. So the FAQ does not help in this case.

This could be considered a bug too.

I guess I will have to wait and see.

It does in relation with your next question (which was the status request I was refering to). If you can't see a site listed in a category it is not listed there. The search will show you a situation from the past.

Either way - search lags behind the category - it is not updated real-time by any shape of the imagination.

So a recently-listed site could be in the category and not show up on search, or a recently-delisted site could show up in search and not in the category.

The "most current" version available to the public is always the category, which should be used as a reference.
