Should I resubmit?

How can I know if I should resubmit my site. I submitted the site for like 7 months ago and that is probably not even right category any more.
I have also heard that submitting many times could get your site banned.
How can I know if anyone else have submitted my site during this time?
How can I know which category my site is awating review, or is it rejected?

Will a resubmit changed the category which it's awaiting review?

I suggest having a look at the FAQ linked at the top of this forum and report back with those questions, that have not been answered there. Saves us some "repeating the same things over and over again". Thanks!

I'd already composed the following when windharp posted. I might as well go ahead and post it even though, as pointed out, most of the information here is readily available elsewhere.

If your site has changed so much that the original category you suggested it for is no longer relevant, you not only may resubmit the suggestion, you probably should. It might not be a bad idea to put a note [in brackets, like this] at the end of the description pointing out that the original suggestion is no longer relevant.

Why, yes, as a matter of fact we do sometimes ban aggresive spammers. But don't worry. For obvious reasons I won't say how many submissions it takes to be considered spam, but I assure you that the number is larger than two.

I wouldn't worry too much about suggestions from others, unless you, or people you've hired, or previous owners of the site have submitted them. Sadly, most of the suggestions we get are from people promoting the sites they suggest. Not exactly the most unbiased source of information, and probably the chief reason it often takes us so long to get to any particular suggestion.

Nope, sorry, we just can't provide information about the status of any particular suggestion. We used to try doing that, and ended up overwhelmed with work when we could have been finding and listing sites.

Once a submission has been received, it will never go away. It will sit in that category, awaiting review.

If, after a month, the site has not appeared, then feel free to submit one more time only. Please note that a new submission to the same category overwrites the previous one.

Thanks for the answer brmehlman.

If you have submitted the same site to the same category multiple times over a four month period, it is highly unlikely that any harm will befall you.
