Site Addition Confusion

Ok, I understand that we can't ask for the status of a submission and am fine with it. I also understand that while we might suggest a site for abc category, the editor may decide it really belongs in def, a subcategory of abc.

But my confusion lies in between those 2 points. I've seen many editors say to have patience and that it will either be added or not and to "just keep checking". But how do you just keep checking if it may not be added to where you submitted it for? I'm totally

I'm recognizing that its likely to be quite a while for my submission to be reviewed as there are no editors in the category I submitted it to, but I'm trying to figure out how I can keep tabs on when/if my submission gets added without trying every category I can think of that it might end up in.

Many thanks!

Use the search feature, searching for your domain name excluding the www.

Not neccessarily, boomhaur04. Many of us have editing permissions in thousands of categories below where we are listed as editors. For instance, a USA level editor can edit in every locality within 50 states, whether there is a resident editor in them or not.

But, I highly commend your attitude, it's nice to see that someone understands, :) .

So just to be sure, if my site was www.dmoz.org (which is clearly isn't ;)) I would just search for dmoz. Or would I search for dmoz.org?

crowbar, sorry, didn't mean to imply there wasn't a trickle down. Just that there were no direct category editors. :)

Thanks!

And, not to suggest that the DMOZ search function is less than ideal; 9 out of 10 editors responding to a surevye said they double check things with Google search.
