My site was submitted and accepted in late 1998 or early 1999. Within days of acceptance, we started showing in Yahoo results and continued to do so for years. Some time last year, the site was **dropped** from odp (at least a search on the domain name yields nothing and I cannot find it in any applicable categories).

I sent an email to the editorial staff and resubmitted the site months ago to no avail. Seems liked we have been blacklisted.

Any way to find out why this happened and who deleted us (like maybe a competitor)?

Any suggestions for how to get back in? It's frustrating since we were one of the first in our category back in 1999.

Your appearance in Yahoo search results back in 1998/1999 would have had nothing at all to do with the ODP.

If you were indeed listed at some point, it's unlikely your removal had anything to do with a competitor. Sites are removed (temporarily or permanently) for a number of reasons, including that they were unavailable when checked, they were moved to a more appropriate category where they are awaiting review, they are mirrors of other listed sites, or they don't meet our guidelines for listing (our listing criteria now are more strict now than they were in 1999). If your site was removed for a temporary reason (such as unavailability), then it will eventually be rereviewed and, if appropriate, listed again. If it was removed permanently (e.g. if it is a mirror), then the only way it can be relisted is if the offending condition changes.
