Hi All

Im sure this question gets asked a lot and i have read many threads to try and help me with this solution before i ask the question.

I Have been trying to get this site included in DMOZ for a long time but nothing is happening.

the site is <url removed>, by looking at this site does anybody have an idea if there is something on the site that may be prohibiting its inclusion or whether it breaks any guidelines? this way we can ensure it is changed!

Your help and ideas are very much appreciated.

Our guidelines for inclusion are availably for anybody to read
http://www.dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html
You can read them yourself and determine if yoru site is listable.

If a site is listable according to these guidelines and it is not listed yet than it must be waiting review. When such a review will happen or how much time will pass before the review will be done is something nobody knows. Please read our FAQ for more explanation

You can get a pretty good estimate of the size of the pool of sites waiting for review: just Google for the related topic.

And you can get a pretty good estimate of the amount of surfer interest in a subject: the more worthless sites Google shows, the more desperate marketers must have been, to generate them -- and of course, therefore the less actual surfer interest there must be.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback, i have reviewed the feedback and believe the site to be meeting guidelines. However i find 2 years of waiting for inclusion incredible! i understand no one has time scales for inclusion but is this sort of time frame usual?

Your feedback will be appreciated

It is not unusual.

I don't know when the last time was you suggested the website but at the end of 2006 we had a crash and lost almost all suggestions. If you have not suggested your website in 2007 or 2008 feel free to do so. If the suggestion was made after december 2006 there is no need to suggest a website again.

pvgool is of course correct, when referring to suggested sites.

However, a great many sites are added to the directory every day, within minutes of an editor finding them. For example, the other day I spent about an hour adding more than 20 sites to an under-developed category.
I found them very easily by searching the internet and following links on other sites. None of them had been suggested to the directory, so their webmasters were not even waiting for inclusion. ;)

But, really, this is true of suggested sites also: they're often added within minutes of an editor finding them. And often an editor finds them because they were suggested.

But what is "suggesting a site", really? It's not about making anyone find it. It's not about making anyone look for it. It's not about setting a schedule for looking or finding. It's about makes it easier for someone who's looking for that site to find it (whoever that someone is, and whenever they start looking).
