Hello!

I've submitted my site <url removed> about 4 monthes ago to this category:
Top: Society: Relationships: Dating: Personals: Regional: Europe: Ukraine

The site is not listed yet. I would like to know, what was wrong with my submission. I see some new listings there, so probably my site was rejected. Why? Some of listings are 100% spam (Wild Wind Dating Service - Single Russian and Ukranian women seeking single men for love and marriage. is listed twice!), so I don't know, how is this part of DMOZ working.

Please answer my question, I'll be waiting for the reply!

Thank you very much for your attention!

Hi Polaris,

That there are some new listings in a category does not mean that other sites suggested there have been rejected. Imagine that there are 25 sites waiting for review in a category. An editor may spend an hour reviewing sites there, and maybe list 4 or 5 of them, move 5 others to different categories where they would be better suited, and not have time to do anything more than that. The listing suggestions that have not been touched will remain until the editor (or another editor) comes by and decides to review them.

So you can't know whether your site was denied or not. In any Personals category there will almost certainly be many more than 25 sites waiting for review, and a lot of them spam, which means that it might take a very long time for a specific site to be reviewed. (For instance, a single organization might create a lot of different websites and suggest them all for review. Since it is against our guidelines to list more than one site for the same organization, it can take a very long time to ascertain that a site is, indeed, unique and listable.)

Thank you very much for alerting us to the double listing of Wild Wind. It's been fixed. If you feel that there are other sites listed that shouldn't be there because they are dead, don't offer unique content, belong to the same organization or something else, we're very grateful if you let us know.

We can't give you any more help than this, I'm afraid. We don't review sites based on who asks us to, here at resource-zone (you've already asked us to review it by suggesting it to dmoz.org) and we no longer give status reports, as you can see in this announcement.

Thank you. {moz}
