I had submitted my site http://www.jmmehtatravel.com for listing at dmosz about three & a half months ago. On 15th of August , on giving a search by the name 'jmmehtatravel' it returned a listing of the site under the category http://dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/India/Travel_and_Tourism/Travel_Services/Tour_Operators/ . However on visiting the category, I did not find my site in the list. However the search continued to show up the same result for the next 2days. Now for the past 2 days the search fails to show up any listing of the site. Should I take it that the site has not yet been listed? Or is it some temporary error?

best wishes,

It's temporary. The listing has been withdrawn following a quality control check. (A check of the listing, not the site). It's awaiting review again.

You are welcome to ask for another status report in six months, but please stick to one of the existing threads for this site.

Thanks for your prompt reply Paul. Does a quality control check mean, my site is being reviewed for its list-worthiness ? I am sorry but I haven't quite understood what you said in your reply.
However, I do think that since it was listed just 5 days back, the editor must have checked if my site meets all the criteria required for a listing & I am sure it does. Could you please elaborate a little?

At a second look at the listing it was considered that a little more work needed to be done prior to a listing and it was taken out of view (a lot more than 5 days ago) whilst that work was conducted.

I have just spotted however that we presently have a listing of http://www.jmmtravel.com/ (doesn't work on Opera 7.23 - but fine in Internet Explorer).

Thanks Leer for the reply. Just one thing here though- If more work is required to be done before my site is relisted, I think it would be nice to let me know what kind of work is supposed to be done. I know this forum is not meant for such questions, but I have made sure my site follows all guidelines required for a listing at dmoz, infact 2 of my previous sites have been successfully listed at dmoz in the past. In fact the very fact that it was listed demonstrates that it complies with all the guidelines. Being listed & delisted immediately after 2 days, makes it a little difficult for me to explain the fact to my client for whom I am promoting this website

I am afraid that 'probing' will not get more information because as you rightfully say the forum is not for these types of questions. No-one said that 'you' or your client needed to do more work simply that more work needed to be done so therefore we are going around in a none existant circle.

Being listed previously, whether if for an hour, day, week, month or year is no indication as to whether a site will be re-listed or is completely guidelines compliant etc so please do not look into that to far. I am not saying it is not going to be listed but simply that a former listing means nothing at all.

I see that my mention of http://www.jmmtravel.com/ seemed to slip past in the breeze. Your client already appears to have a listing so this will also be addressed at the same time http://www.jmmehtatravel.com/ is looked at again.

Feel free to bookmark this thread and ask again in six months.
