Hi there,
I wanted to change the URL of a few sites because they were updated. The url's come up in search results but when I specifically put the URL into the search menu the message is "No Open Directory Project" results found.
How can I change these URL's?
Thank you!

If you want to search for a specif url you must do that in the format
domain.tld

do not use the formats
www.domain.tld
http://www.domain.tld

But why search for the url when you already found were they are listed.

It could be that your question did not correctly specify what you meant.
Did you mean: you found a site using the search but noticed that the site is not listed in the category
What happened in such a case is that one of our quality control tools or an editor has removed the site from public view. Search is using an older version of pour database, normaly one to two weeks behind the actual catgeories.

Hi!
Thanks so much for your quick response!

When I put the URL i saw on the search results I see that it needs to be changed so i go to "update listing" and put the old URL into the box which says "Site URL". The error message I then receive is: "URL not Found".
In this case, not sure about how to update this old URL.

Thanks again!

If the URL isn't in the category, you won't be able to update it. It won't be in our search database either when it next updates.

If the old URL shows in search but the system gives an error when you try to update it, it means one of two things:

1. the URL has already been updated (you should be able to check that yourself by actually looking for your site in the category rather than searching for it) or
2. the site is no longer listed in the category and the search hasn't caught up yet (it can be a week or more out-of-date).

This site has been archived and is no longer accepting new content.
