Site listing time

I'm wondering how long it takes, on avrage, to get a site listed.

Why not just say instead of reffering him elsewhere

The few of us prepared to spend time in this forum as a break from our duties elsewhere don't find it very interesting to type the same answer to different enquirers over and over again. I suppose we could have boiler plate replies prepared, but wouldn't that be the same as having a FAQ ?
