my site, http://www.jimboartmusic.com was listed with dmoz since may.2004. when i check status, dmoz states it is not registered....what to do? thanx, jim

I'd love to help but without a clickable link to your chosen category as requested in ATTENTION - Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING, I can't.

The site has never been listed with dmoz. It was submitted to at least one fantastically irrelevant category, which always leads me to suspect that it's been shotgun-spammed at us. But it's only been spotted once so far, and that submittal was moved to http://dmoz.org/Arts/ to be re-categorized more appropriately. That will entail more delays in queues, possibly multiple delays -- but I hasten to add that, from a start like that, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU RESUBMIT. It is waiting review at a better category than you found, and we'll find the right category for it.

As Jim mentioned, we nearly always need the category you submitted to. But when a site is submitted to a category without an enormous backlog -- and with a blatant lack of appropriateness to that category -- it stands out like a sore thumb, so an editor may quickly punt it in the correct direction. And when THAT happens (as here), we can see where it landed.

Jimbo, you need to use this thread, not any of the others you have started on the same subject.

You need to provide a link to the ODP directory category (starts with http://dmoz.org) such that when it is clicked on, it takes one to the DMOZ category where you submitted. Even when I add http://dmoz.org/ to the beginning of the string you have provided above, it does not go to a valid dmoz category. Please visit the correct category at dmoz.org, then cut and paste from your browser into a posting here. Otherwise no one can help.

"Awaiting review" means that it is waiting for an editor to come work in the category, look at the site and review it. It will not be listed until that happens. And no, we don't have any idea when that will happen.
