Hi

I submitted a site approximately a month ago. I was wondering if I can find out the status of my listing. Also if it is not approved what can I do to ensure that it gets approved?

Sincerely,

Nancy Daniels

Sure, read the "read before posting" post to see what information your query needs to include.

The submittal policies are very clear: "no site is guaranteed a listing." Nothing you do can change that fact.

Oh, if your site makes a significant contribution to the ODP goal as well as serving your purposes, we'll want to include it. So just make sure its content and purpose is clear. But if it fails to serve OUR purpose, we'll want to not include it; by more subtle logic, even if it fails to serve YOUR purpose, we'll want to not include it.

This is a site that offers a free service to help unwanted pets and to assist owners on behaviour issues. What on that site might not be worthy of admittance? I surely don't understand the concept.

Read the forum FAQ - read the forum posting guidelines - start at step 1 --- you make all these assumptions that someone has rejected your site without knowing whether any editor has even looked at it.

That wouldn't be the problem, lots of sites have things that in themselves aren't worthy of admittance. The question is, "what on that site MIGHT be worthy of admittance?"

And that question we can't answer without a review. (And we don't know when a review will happen -- it could have happened last night, it might be another two years or more.)

I did read the FAQ before I posted. I don't know the dynamics of this list as I am new so please forgive any ignorance.

When I recieved the response from the moderator I assumed he knew something about my listing.
