Site Status for www.franchisesolutions.com

Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me out. Franchise Solutions has had a listing in Top: Business: Opportunities: Franchising: Directories for quite some time (http://dmoz.org/Business/Opportunities/Franchising/Directories/) - the listing seems to have disappeared. Editor of that category is mickymo

But, when I do a search for franchisesolutions.com in DMOZ, it says the listing is still there? I do not see it, and
I have lost all of my rankings in DMOZ.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Your site was deleted some time ago due to lack of unique content. See http://dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html#affiliate for details of sites that are not eligible for listing. The editor listed for that category is not the only one that has the ability to work there.

Search will probably continue to show your site for a while, as it hasn't been updated for quite some time now. The next update will remove your site from search as well. The ODP does not have any 'rankings', a site is either listed, or it isn't.

As Franchise Solutions is a legitimate buiness, and has no other listings in the ODP, how is the site seen as not having legitimate content? Franchise Solutions is not an affiliate site, in terms of having an end result drive traffic to other sites, so it should be eligible for listing in the ODP. There is unique content within the site. For example, the following URLs:

It is a site devoted to franchise and business opportunities and how to obtain one pertinent to your interstets/investment level.

There are many sites still listed in that category that are set up in a similar manner, as is the nature of the business. As it is a category for a directory of Franchise and Business Opportunities, which franchisesolutions.com is, I am afraid I am very confused by your response.

Ah, my mistake, it seems you are not an 'affiliate' in the normal sense of the term. It seems the editor that removed your site got confused by your linking to another of your own sites.

Regardless of that, what you have here is a 'lead generator' site. A fairly recent change to our policies means that we do not list sites that exist merely to generate sales leads.
