Site: Marketocracy

Since we have forums, quotes, stock picks, a newsletter and a mutual fund, I think Business/Investing makes the most sense, but Business/Investing/Games if we must.

Anyways, its been over a month now, and thanks in advance for the volunteer who checks for me.

I originally submitted to:
Business/Investing/Games

Because that's where Yahoo put us a couple of years ago. After I didn't get an answer (and before I knew it could take awhile), I resubmitted to:

Business/Investing/Stocks_and_Bonds

Because we've added a lot to the site over the last few years (forums, a newsletter, stock picks, etc.) and I'm trying to get our Yahoo listing moved as well for just that reason.

I also submitted the funds website. http://funds.marketocracy.com to

Business/Investing/Mutual_Funds/Fund_Families

(Lest you think that that's a double submission, realize that the mutual funds site BY LAW is completely separate, so it makes perfect sense to list the fund family separate. See the other links in this category, like Schwab, Fidelity, etc.)

Does that help?

Great thanks!

Are those categories especially backed up? Members of our site are always posting their favorite links, so I've been debating becoming an editor. I just felt weird applying to be an editor for something where I had a business relationship.

On the other hand, its not like the editorial guidelines for something like Business/Investing/Mutual_Funds/Fund_Families should be that strict. :)

It is perfectly acceptable for editors to have a business relationship in the categories they edit. The key is that their application MUST provide full disclosure.

I BELIEVE it is helpful if the application also deals how the applicant would deal with conflicts (i.e., seek another editor to help, etc). But since I do not approve applications, take my advice with a large grain of salt.

I have the impression that most applicants get turned down for poor/incomplete applications, requesting categories that are too large or that require more experience (those that deal with a lot of spam), or applicants who primarily want to promote their own sites.

My advice, go ahead an apply, put a lot of thought and attention to your application, make sure you are not biting off more than you can chew and see what happens.
