Windharp means that yours is not the only site awaiting review in that category. Other people have suggested URLs there, too.

Site Submission Status

Hi,

I submitted my site http://www.davidellisrealtor.com to dmoz.org in September 2003 in the following category:

My site still has not been listed...could someone please check the status...and also maybe give me an idea if it is common to wait more than 7-8 months to be included.

Updated Site Submission Status

Hi,

I inquired about my site submission status in November, 2003. I'm hoping to get an update about my submission status. My site was initially sent to dmoz.org for submission in August 2003.

Is it common for this process to take 8-9 months?

Still untouched by an editor.

Yes, submissions can take more than two years, and are not helped when submitters suggest URL with non-compliant titles and keyword-stuffed descriptions. editors often take the past of least resistance when ther are a lot of sites waiting, and tend to clear the ones with titles in the proper format and descriptions that actually describe what is on the site.

You also appear to be a bit thin on unique content. Every realtor offers information on schools, mortgages, MLS listings and the like. You do have featured listings, although I did not spend enough time on your site to determine if that information is actually on your site or is generated elsewhere.

So, you wait.

Thanks for the reply.

My featured listings are my own...and I have added quite a bit of unique content (general info about the area, etc). I will revisit my title and description....when I initially submitted to dmoz, I am confident my site met guidelines.

Anyway...thanks for cutting to the chase. Hopefully I'll get there one day...

OK - your category has been editalled. All the spam has been removed from the unreviewed as well as all the titles have been modified to match the Real Estate guidelines. The only thing that kept your site from being listed by me in this run since I spent about an hour cleaning up the unreviewed is the fact that your site is not optimized for a 26.6 connection. Your site would not load for me so I am just done. The good thing is that if and editor decides to edit in that category the unreviewed is ready to be listed. The bad news is that there is no way of telling when that is going to happen and your category is spam abused, just like most real estate categories. Wish you all the luck in the world my friend - it is just a matter of time - hopefully less time now.

Site Submission Status

Hi,

I submitted my website http://www.davidellisrealtor.com to dmoz.org in August 2003....and I'm still not listed. I have good website placement on most of the major search engines, and I'm wondering why I haven't yet been included in the ODP. I do believe my site meets the submission guidelines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
