Could someone please let me know the satus of www.herphavenreptilerescue.org submitted on 2/5/05 to Recreation: Pets: Reptiles and Amphibians: Rescues and Shelters

I'm unable to give you the status, some other editor will do that. But I want to point out that the site says Care sheets are under construction. All care sheets will be available Sunday Febuary 6th. Sorry for any inconvenience.

However the care sheets look like they are there - although I did not check them all.

A reviewing editor may decide not to list the site [it might be considered under construction], so it would be good if you could fix that. I hate to see sites rejected for minor problems.

It's been over a month since I posted this inquiry on my submission status I was wondering if someone could tell me what's going on with it.

Any idea how long it should take or why it's taking so long? Just curious..

But on what do you base that statement - you must have come with a preconceived view of how fast things work here.

The reality is that you got listed in Regional/North_America/United_States/Ohio/Localities/S/Sandusky/Society_and_Culture
very fast, and you never even submitted the site there.

How long SHOULD it take?

Some sites ideally SHOULD be found by an editor and reviewed the day they are published, before they're ever submitted.

Some sites (the large majority of submitted sites) should never be listed, and we'd be better off if we never saw them.

It is an enormous advantage to editors and to surfers if some sites are not reviewed until they have been up for several years.

Although sometimes we can give a good guess about which sites are which, we don't know for sure until we review them -- and check on them again after a couple of years.

Notice that submittal date doesn't have anything to do with any of these categories! It doesn't matter, it is irrelevant. It is a nil datum, a one-state quantum, it has no intrinsic or practical significance.

I never realized that we did get listed in another section so I'm just happy we got listed somwhere. Also sorry i guess 3 months isn't very long especially with this being all volunteers. Thanks again.
