Site Status

Hi there,
I'm curious to know what's happened to http://www.nikiowl.com

This site's been in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Gifts/Greeting_Cards/Handmade/ for about a year. It was then moved when this category was changed to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Gifts/Stationery/Greeting_Cards/Handmade/ but was removed just before Christmas last year.

The site's been up and running with no problems. I waited a while and then submitted it to
http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Gifts/Personalized/ thinking that this might be a more appropriate category and am waiting to see what happens. I've looked around the different related categories thinking it might have been put somewhere else, but can't find it.

I'd be grateful for some response, since I don't understand why it was removed in the first place and would like to see it listed again.

The way your site stands now, it does not qualify as a shopping site. In order to qualify for shopping, a site must contain several basic elements, such as a list of products, prices, and a way to order them from home (via email, shopping cart, etc.). Your site contains no prices at all and no specifics for ordering. This was the reason for denial. All I can see are areas where you offer a chance for someone to inquire what the price of a product might be. The best suggestion I could give would be to add prices to your site and resubmit.

thanks for your reply. I've been adding prices, but I guess too slowly <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'll work on that and resubmit as you say.

Before you resubmit, get a friend (not you--you know the site too well) to try to order something. If they can complete the order and know exactly how much it will cost, then it's ok.

When you resubmit, mention in the description [in brackets like this: "prices and ordering information now included in site]

The reviewer will know what to look for, and it will probably be a no-brainer add.
