Hello - I need some help. I submitted my site last year and received an email that there was a question. I responded back to the editor and never recieved a response. Can someone verify how I can have the editor contact me or do I need to resubmit. The email had the reference number opendir - 8d02ff4620564e2cbe73bb3046ec1b8b and when I sent the email - I received a response that they couldn't finf the authentication ticket. I sent another email to request how to find this information or how to help with the process but received no response. It's very difficult to be in limbo since I know I first submitted the site well over three years ago and when I did not receive any emails, I resubmitted. I understand that this is a human directory but any information would be greatly appreciated, specifically when there is a note to not resubmit. I can abide by those guidelines but when I don't know whether this sits is not being considered, given three years and emails sent, I am hopeful that someone can provide me with some more information. We have been a reputable business for a number of years and with many of my business counterparts in the same field being listed and with our great page ranking, it's simply not understandable to me how this site is overlooked.

The e-mail with the opendir reference number is an automatic one sent to you in order to confirm that the e-mail address you used when you applied to become an editor was valid. It would have requested that you reply to the e-mail to confirm. Once you did that, you should have received an e-mail stating that your application had been received and would be reviewed. If you replied to that same opendir e-mail more than once, the second and subsequent replies would have triggered the "can't find authentication ticket" message -- the first reply you send to confirm your e-mail address destroys the authentication ticket and moves your application into the new applications pool; the authentication thus doesn't exist if you send additional replies so they trigger the error message.

This is all related to becoming an editor, not suggesting your site for inclusion in the directory. Those are two completely separate processes -- and the "suggesting your site for inclusion" process does not result in any e-mails at all. If you'd like to find out what the status of your application to become an editor is, we need you to follow the instructions in the Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING thread in this forum first. Regarding your site suggestion, the "thank you" page you received after suggesting it is the only communication you will receive regarding that suggestion.

NOTE: I've moved your thread to the Becoming an Editor forum.

Thank you - OK - Going back to my original question. What do I need to do to verify my site submission status - whether it is on the books or is it lost in digital heaven? Is there any way to verify against a database of some sort where this stands?

Thank you,Ellen

What do I need to do to verify my site submission status
Nothing at all. We don't provide site status reports here - or anywhere else for that matter.

If your site is listable, it'll be listed in time but we can't predict when or by whom. If it isn't, it won't be. In neither case is re-suggesting it appropriate.
