No information is available.

I have a recommendation, though. Whatever you think you're doing when you "try" -- just don't ever do it again.

There are no constructive ways of "trying to get in". The ODP doesn't guarantee a listing to any site, no matter what you do.

All that you can do is suggest a site, and then go about your business. At some point (we can never predict when) some editor (we can never predict who) may work in that category, and may choose to review that site.

Given that this is true, it is really meaningless to ask why "something didn't happen". Do you suppose it's because ... the editors must have been doing something else that year? You'd be right. Why did the editors do the good work they did? They're volunteers, even the ODP staff doesn't have the right to ask that question.

Thanks for the fast response. What if I swap the word trying to suggesting.... I've been suggesting the site for a year now and just havent been added although other newer websites than mine have. Its very frustrating. I desperatly want to be listed, so if you are telling me there is no information, do you think i should re-suggest my site again?

Thanks

Please read our forum guidlines and faq.
We can only give you a status if you waited a minimum fo 1 month after you last suggested the site. Once a site is reveived there is no reason to suggest is ever again.
Suggesting a site several times will probably slow down the review proces and in a worst case could get you and all of your sites banned.

Suggesting more than once almost always hurts your site (but usually not very much). A lot of people think like a Pharisee at prayer -- "they'll be heard because they talk a lot." It isn't so.

So, yes, my advice applies, in spades.

As to what you see: it is possible, although EXTREMELY rare, for an editor to review all submittals in a category at once. I just processed a dozen sites in that category myself, but that didn't begin to exhaust the possibilities.

And, of course, each editor has his own way of working in a category, which may not include processing submittals at all -- or may include processing them in random order.

I nearly always do random order, starting at some site description that catches my eye. That method is more fair than any other approach -- because it cannot be manipulated by spammers, and spammers are far-and-away the largest source of bias in our unreviewed submittal database.

("eye-catching" can be either obviously good, obviously bad, or obviously in the wrong time zone. Obviously it's usually not option one -- this is submittals we're talking about.)
