I have spent more than an hour attempting to submit a site and looking for help when my attempt failed. The main road block is the field where I have to enter the letters in an image. There is no option for users who can't read the image. I've been to sites where you can listen to an audio rendering of the image or at least send a message to a human person to request assistance, so this step is not impossible for blind or visually impaired users to complete if it's presented correctly.
I then spent most of the past hour searching for help. Email addresses or forms to request assistance do not exist on the site. I finally found a Feedback link at the top of a page. (It's definitely not on every page, and I can't remember how I found the page that had the Feedback link.) However, the Feedback form appears to be down. I was advised to come here for assistance. I appear to have been more successful at guessing what the letters in the verification image were for these forums because now I am registered.
I hate to be a "squeaky wheel," but it is terribly frustrating not being able to use a service, especially one provided by an organization that says it is open and inclusive. It is relatively easy to make websites accessible to disabled users these days, and I hope this organization is planning to take those steps. If not, could it at least be easier to ask someone for help?
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.
